About this property

Welcome to The Skirrid Mountain Inn

Dating back to Norman times, The Skirrid Mountain Inn is a stone and timbered property that offers a distinct historical atmosphere in the village of Llanvihangel Crucorney. The inn features a paneled dining room serving a British menu and includes a bar area, balancing its role as both a place to eat and a social spot. Recent guests describe the food as plentiful and tasty, with friendly and attentive staff contributing to a welcoming environment.

Though there is no pool or fitness center, the inn provides a cozy setting, often highlighted by its log fire and traditional character. Popped in for dinner after day two of walking Offa’s Dyke. Surprisingly busy for Monday night but it was October half term and near Halloween which is definitely a thing at this pub! Really helpful staff, managed to squeeze us in for great food, great value. Dogs fine in the bar area but not in the restaurant which is ok with me. Thanks

We had a great 2 night stay at the inn .The staff are so friendly and helpful Emma,Kacey,Janet and John were all lovely nothing was too much trouble .The Inn is so atmospheric and historical and our room was huge .Emma made sure we were warm and had everything we needed on arrival . The breakfast is so tasty and plentiful and the menu of an evening is varied and reasonably priced and all out dishes were delicious.Service was fast and cheerfully served to us .It was so comforting sitting by the log fire and the locals were friendly and welcoming .Its such an amazing place and we heard noises in the night that couldn’t be explained and I’m not going to lie I felt a bit nervous given the age and history of the building .Overall it’s such an unique experience and I would recommend the inn for a different vibe to the usual break away. Thanks to everyone who answered my many questions and made sure all our requests were met really appreciated it .Its a beautiful area with lots to see and do .Well worth a visit .

We went for the ghost tour with haunted happenings, great hosts Chris and Pam, great time spent on the ghost hunt. But such a lovely old pub, may have to go stay overnight to enjoy the bar side of things. Very warm and welcoming staff. Will be going up again next month for a meal and another ghost hunt.

Popped in for a light lunch and was met with most generous portions of food I've had in a very long time. Two alcoholic drinks and two ploughman's lunches for under 30 pounds, quite shocked really! Lovely pub, nice staff member that served us and with a good view out the back. Definitely recommend.

We visited the Skirrid inn in February 2026. What a place. A very historical and enchanting building. You can feel the history as soon as you walk in. The character of the building takes you back in time to bygone years. It certainly feels like the past guests still reside there too!

Wonderful Sunday lunch at this historic inn. One of the best Sunday dinners we’ve had out. Great service, staff all worked very hard to ensure everyone had a good experience. Portions were perfect with delicious cauliflower cheese and a brilliant selection of desserts. Excellent value for money too. Highly recommend!
